Destination EVERYwhere arrives at the Hannah… and we’re hauling a train full of talent!

To start your journey, TinyKwyre (Palmerston North) brings a short programme of multicultural wonders. We’ll switch gears, and incidentally genders, to bring the fantastic Harbour Capital Chorus to the stage. They will deliver you songs of wondrous destinations and how to get there! Then the hilarious “Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants” (10dd for short) will take to the stage and bring you tales of many countries (well, at least most of the songs have countries in the title!)

Book with iTicket or Hannah Playhouse box office https://www.iticket.co.nz/events/2019/nov/destination-everywhere

Here’s what was said about the first season:

“A brilliantly funny show featuring great female voices, soaring harmonies and much laughter … all neatly contained in pop acapella!” (Someone’s mum)

Songs from around the world (well at least with countries in the titles… ) like Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, Land Down Under, Walk Like an Egyptian. We’ll deliver them to you with clever arrangements, great voices, talent, humour, a little reverence… but no instruments – just vocals and props. Think Barden Bella’s (from the movie Pitch Perfect) meet Feisty Chickens.

Come along for a rollicking trip, carried on a tide of acapella pop and harmony!

As the powerhouse guitarist for one of the most important progressive rock bands ever, Steve Hackett has been a guiding influence for musicians and guitarists for over 40 years.

Following the one/two punch of Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot, both albums driven by the muscular guitars of new member Steve Hackett, Genesis were ready to launch what would become their finest album, Selling England By the Pound.

Finally, now, 47 years after the album’s release, Steve Hackett will be performing Selling England By the Pound in full once only in New Zealand on Tuesday June 2, 2020 at Auckland Town Hall.

“I think (Genesis) really nailed the best of what that band as an entity could have done with that album.” – Neil Peart (Rush)

“… a complexity of tone that’s pretty rare in any kind of art.” – Robert Christgau

“the definitive Genesis album.” – Fish (formerly of Marillion)

In addition, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of its release, Steve will be performing his critically acclaimed solo album ‘Spectral Mornings’.

And if that’s not enough, Steve will perform selections from his stunning new album ‘At the Edge of Light’ and may even be munificent enough to throw in another couple of Genesis tunes.

“I’m excited to bring my Genesis Revisited show back to New Zealand. It was fantastic to play there last time and to visit that amazing country” says Hackett.

“This time will be a special show, including the whole of Genesis album ‘Selling England By the Pound’, celebrating my solo album Spectral Mornings 40th anniversary, plus more! I can’t wait!”

Steve’s exceptional debut antipodean tour in 2017 left audiences stunned by the majestic performances by Hackett and his virtuoso band. How do you top that? Come witness the spectacle of Steve Hackett’s incendiary 2020’s shows to see how it’s done.

“Hackett’s guitar playing was impeccable, full of little melodic twists…” – 13th Floor

“There were several standing ovations throughout the night, something I have not seen for a while at a show, the fans visibly pleased with Hackett and Co.’s outstanding performance…” – Ambient Light

Tickets on sale Thursday June 20, 2019 – 11am.

The South London new-wave warriors, Squeeze, have announced New Zealand show dates for 2020 with their brand new tour ‘The Songbook Tour’.

With shows set to land in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington, fans around the country will have a chance to see brand new material from Squeeze, as well as hits like ‘Cool For Cats’, ‘Tempted’ and ‘Up The Junction’ as Squeeze bring the soundtrack of the 70s and 80s into full focus.

“‘I am over the moon to be announcing the 2020 tour with Squeeze.”, says Glenn Tilbrook. “We’ve had something of a renaissance in the last few years, and look forward to this continuing, as we will play a set of songs that are new, contemporary and as innovative as people have come to expect from us, along with the old beauties.”

With two critically-acclaimed albums in the past three years, and a live show that has seen them headline numerous festivals in the UK (as well as sell their own sold out shows around the world), “something of a renaissance” seems like an understatement.

Ever hardworking, the band will bring their scintillating live performances to adoring Kiwi fans in 2020, treating them to not just the hits, but also rarities that span their 45 year career both as Squeeze and solo artists.

Tickets for Squeeze’s 2020 New Zealand live dates go on sale at 12.00pm on Friday June 7 via the website.

Hermitude are back with a daring new single ‘Northern Lights’ featuring Soaky Siren and Vory. The track has just premiered on tastemaker stations triple J in Australia and George FM in New Zealand.

The Australian duo (AKA Luke Dubs and El Gusto) have also just announced a New Zealand tour. Presented by Live Nation and George FM, Hermitude will play in Auckland at the Powerstation on Wednesday, November 13; the James Hay in Christchurch on Friday, November 15 and Shed 6 in Wellington on Saturday, November 16.

Tickets for all shows go on sale at 11am Friday, June 21.

For complete tour and ticket information, visit: livenation.co.nz

Sounding completely fresh and new, and yet irresistibly familiar all at the same time, Hermitude’s new single ‘Northern Lights’ will lure you in with its light beginnings, before pulling you under with its earth shattering drops. Sonically reminiscent of their mammoth single, ‘The Buzz’, which saw the Blue Mountains duo rise to International success, ‘Northern Lights’ signifies their most bright and brash release thus far.

Flexing new sounds on previous singles ‘Stupid World’ and ‘Every Day’ allowed them to introduce more intimate and chillaxified aesthetics in their work, paving the way for this glorious, calamitous, momentous release… Hermitude have arrived and the track bangs hard!

Joining Hermitude on this track is co-writer Soaky Siren (US) and rapper Vory (US), courting each other in an old school lovers duet. Reaching new heights with each release, the duo have found inspiration from working with a myriad of vocalists on their new music.

Hermitude says, “Northern lights’ is part homage to early dance and rave music, which we love, but also mixed with a signature Hermi drop that’s likely to blow a few wigs back! Having Soaky Siren and Vory on the track is the icing on the cake that makes it shine.”

Accompanying this big song drop, Hermitude today announce their World Tour which includes New Zealand.
