Limited to five, I will cover composition, lens and where to position yourself to achieve some great photos plus you will become comfortable with photographing equestrians and their beautiful horses.

A selection of equestrians and their horses will be performing for us over two hours and will conclude the field trip with a debrief over a glass of wine and nibbles.

In return for the group of ladies making themselves and horses available, your photos will need to be shared with them, although no restrictions apply to the use of photos after the event.

Equipment, apart from your camera and memory card:

• Gumboots – a must
• Small tarpaulin for your camera bag and laying on
• Small stool for sitting on
• Tripod or monopod
• Lenses; telephoto up to 250 and 15-85mm for portraits, or similar.

Meeting point is Massey University in Albany, then we will head to the Diary Flat farm. I will be easily identifiable, wearing a yellow jacket with Lesley Whyte Photography on the back.

The emphasis is on food and gastronomic tours, best buys and where to shop, and local art and craft that includes the artists’ stories. You’ll go on a virtual tour of Rome.  Cristina will point out the major attractions and things a visitor must not miss. Sometimes it might not be the typical tourist attraction but something more important from an artistic point of view…a brief understanding of the life of a few artists will be beneficial for understanding art works.

On the shopping front, Cristina will give tips on what you should bring back from your trip or simply where to go to see a demonstration of various crafts.

We will also talk about food. Details will be provided about the most interesting gastronomic tours and the venues liked by the locals.

The workshop will be conducted with a slide presentation and notes will also be provided.
